My dream is…

for both Dutch and International students in Nijmegen to discover fullness of life as we get to help them find and follow Jesus. The joy is in getting to be a tiny part of people’s story, to cheer them on and watch as they are (often slowly) transformed to become more like Jesus. I want to see them take what they’re learning and sharing it with people near and far, whether that’s here in our city, somewhere else in the Netherlands or even further afield – back to their home nation and beyond.

Why Navigators?

We moved to Nijmegen from Colchester, UK to be part of a team starting a church in the city called Novio kerk. We have two young kids but I also wanted to work with students again. I looked online at what the student work landscape in our city looked like and found that in terms of vision and values, Navigators was the best fit. After a decent online interview process (in 2021/22) I’m pleased to have started work for the Navs 1 month before we moved and what an adventure it’s been!

What I do…

I love spending time in one-to-one or smaller group mentoring of students. We also run a Navs Night at our house (chaotic family life included!) every other week where we eat dinner together, catch up, pray, read the Bible together (DBS) or go through a course that helps us be with Jesus, become like Jesus and do as he did. It’s loads of fun but most of all I love seeing how these guys are stepping out and following Jesus in their everyday life, outside of these ‘set’ moments.
